    Working Groups Reports:
Free school: ‘The Rich and The Rest of us’ reading group june 7th to the 28th [thursday 7:15] Also: June 11th
Strategy: Commentary about lack of viable strategy meeting times. The current times and places do not work.

    Old Business
‘Display Community Agreements’: Emerald suggested that we have a printed version of the community agreements. Costs are prohibitive – laminating is expensive from outside corporate chains.

Discussion: How should we approach the pricing issue? Should we support smaller chains despite chost?

Proposed: ‘GA approves money spent on this if it is the most locally cost effective option’
[Passes: 12 yea 0 nay 1 stand aside]

Revision of Community Agreements: ‘matriarchy’ questioned within the current frameork.
Discussion: ‘consecutive usage of a facilitator’
Discussion: should we revise or edit the community agreements to exclude the current wording?
Discussion: Perhaps we could reword the statement to be more neutral?
Discussion: I think the issue of matriarchy is not relevant.
Discussion: This is an inclusivity issue.
Discussion: The concept of community rights is broad.

Proposed: revised wording – Patriarchy or ‘other forms of domination based on gender identity’
    [PASSES: 12 yea 0 nay 0 2 stand asides.]

Proposed: ‘Forbidden actions’ for facilitators (consecutive) should only apply to General Assemblies.
[PASSES: 13 yeah, 0 nay 2 stand asides]

    Text Alerts:
Josha: There are a few options for the mass text system. What direction shall we go? (software purchase, license — etc)
Discussion: This may be more effective for a major urban occupy.
Discussion: Under what provision shall this software be used?
Discussion: It is mostly used for GAs, etc.
Discussion: Instead of coming from Carl it will come from the ‘organization’
Discussion: Does this allow infinite texts?
Discussion: It is a scaled system [3000-5000 a month]
Discussion: We need to do phone calls…texts are effective also.
Discussion: Are there any free variations?
Discussion: It might be good to investigate more options….
    Tabled: More information needed.

Bohemian Grove action: There is a planned protest in monte-rio that is requesting support.
Discussion: There is a disclaimer available. Attilla sent out information previously.
Discussion: I am for endorsing this action, however, ‘restricted zones’ and other recent law changes.
Discussion: There are currently no plans for arrests. The action will not be provactive.

    Proposed: Endorsement of this action.
[PASSED: 15 yea, 0 nay 1 stand aside.]
    Occupy the Arts:

    New Business
National Gathering: June 30th to July 4th is formally planned.
Discussion: Should we endorse the national gathering? There is a visioning process and a caravan heads north on June 11th

Proposed: Occupy Santa Rosa is formally endorsing the June 30th ‘national gathering’ in Philadelpha.
[PASSED: 16 yea, 0 nay, 3 stand asides]

Affinity Groups, Workgroups, Committees, Caucus: What are the differences between the varying nomenclatures?
Discussion: What is the difference between these varying nonmenclatures?
Discussion: We would need to remake the banners.
Discussion: I thought the difference between the groups was a power-delegation issue.
Discussion: I think it is important that we maintain a cohesive structure, but I don’t want to argue.
Discussion: Structure is very important, but there is an issue of a lack of structure. As organizers is important
Discussion: There is confussion about about the groups and their nonmenclature.
Discussion: I like structure. It is needed for the long term structure.
Tabled: A formalized proposal is desired before anything should be done.

Proposed: Memorial Day Cancellation — Should we take the day off?
    [PASSES: 15 yea, 0 nay, 0 nay]

    2 corrections, please!
    1) Free School will probably be starting weekly lunchtime Conversation Circles on June 13. [right now it just says "Also: June 11"]
    2) The 1st change that was approved for the Community Agreements was to remove the 2 lines about patriarchy and matriarchy and replace them with this wording: “Patriarchal behavior or other forms of domination based on gender identification.”

Also (and this is not a big deal), I think I was the one who said something like ” I think it is important that we maintain a cohesive structure, but I don’t want to argue,” but I did not say I did not want to argue! I said that I support a change that makes our organizational structure coherent to ourselves and to outside communities (i.e. that names should mean something legible, that we should use Caucus instead of Affinity Group), but that I knew change entailed complication and did not want to impose this change without dialogue with the groups most affected (and someone crucial had just left).
