* NEW BUSINESS

Proposal – Give treasury the green light to adopt a fiscal sponsor so that it can receive online donations and other tax-deductable donations
PASSED – 11 yes, 1 stand aside
Comments: 1) 13.5% cut is a lot; maybe find someone who doesn’t charge so much. 2) maybe only use fiscal sponsor for donations that can’t be received directly.

Proposal – That Sunday GAs be discontinued
PASSED – 12 yes
Comments: We need an emergency GA procedure. Jesse and Jean agree to write a proposal for that

Proposal – Set up a weekly planning group for the Oct 13 celebration.
No decision made
Comments: PFWG is planning this event, but that’s only 3 people and no regular meetings.

* WG REPORTS

Spokes Council – planning to purchase book called “Respectful Confrontation”, read and discuss.

StrategyWG – Planning the big strategy discussion that takes place during a Monday night Spokes Council slot at the UUC (Aug. 20, 7pm). Super pleased with OSR’s Anaheim Solidarity Statement which got world news coverage and recognition. Considering the question, “how can OSR respond quickly to events like the police brutality in Anaheim?”

Prairie Fire WG – Looking for input on 10/13 event. Plans so far: Presidential Auction, Popular Theater? Live Music? Protests at Democratic and Republican Party offices, Plug in new people possibly with focus groups, Pizza Party

SoCoSol (Sonoma County Solidarity) WG – gave presentation at the Free School after the GA (super presentation!)
