Hey folks, here are some brief notes from our brief meeting. We meet Tuesdays at 5pm. All are welcome!

I. Bohemian Grove support/parallel or complementary events

We agreed to help promote the Bohemian Grove action on July 14th, and possibly organize a carpool. We recognized that we don’t have enough capacity to contribute much to the planning of the action, but we support it whole-heartedly. Emerald mentioned that we could organize some sort of event/party/celebration the night after the protest, to offer a venue for people to relax and celebrate. This sparked a very exciting conversation which sort of morphed into a totally different idea. The weekend of the 13th-15th has lots of awesome dates, all of which are ripe for celebration! 1.) July 13th is Carl’s 25th birthday!, 2.) July 14th is Bastille Day! (a historic moment in the French Revolution, where the people stormed the ”Bastille,” a jail, and released everybody), 3.) Bohemian Grove action on the 14th is awesome, and 4.) July 15th is OSR’s 9 month anniversary!

So, in that vein, Action Working Group proposes that: ”We host a July 14th OSR 9-month party bash/extravaganza/blowout that welcomes and celebrates all of our movement, especially the Occupy Bohemian Grove and in solidarity with the students of Quebec and Mexico and all those in struggle. Down with the 1%. Vive la RevolucioN!”

II. Prairie Fire action discussion/feedback

Tandava discussed the upcoming action on Sunday, June 3rd, organized by the Prairie Fire WG. We went around and gave some ideas and feedback. I didn’t take notes on it, sadly. We encouraged everyone to attend tomorrow’s Teach-In on solidarity and alliance building, because it will focus on how to build the movement and build alliances with other groups, which will come in handy when organizing effective actions.
